INSPIRATION Doraku-ann is a mobile tea room space that can be collapsible and set up anywhere, creating a traditional Japanese space. Doraku-ann can be used to create a tiny Japanese space that embodies traditional Japanese beauty and the spirit of hospitality. Dorakuann can easily embody a traditional Japanese space by simply moving it and setting it up. Doraku-ann has the appeal of inheriting traditional Japanese community spaces. Doraku-ann can create an atmosphere of tranquility and wabi-sabi. UNIQUE PROPERTIES The inspiration for this project came from my desire to reinterpret Japan's long-standing eco-conscious culture and the spirit of "mottainai" in a contemporary and socially meaningful way. By giving new life to leftover materials, We wanted to create a design that not only preserves the aesthetics of traditional Japanese spaces but also invites people to gather, connect, and share moments of hospitality. The two-tatami tea room has always fascinated me for its ability to hold a profound sense of calm, intimacy, and cultural depth within an extremely small footprint. We sought to translate that essence into a modern, mobile community space-one that could be assembled anywhere and instantly generate a sense of Japanese serenity, wabi-sabi, and togetherness. "Douraku-ann" was born from the belief that meaningful community does not require large architecture; it can emerge from a compact, temporary space that encourages people to slow down, face one another, and experience a shared moment. By making the structure portable and easy to set up, We aimed to democratize access to traditional Japanese spatial culture and create opportunities for spontaneous interaction in diverse environments. This project is both a continuation of Japan's cultural heritage and a proposal for a more sustainable, community-oriented future. It is a small space designed to spark human connection-an invitation to gather, reflect, and experience the spirit of "ichigo-ichie" in everyday life.
